Are you and your family struggling a bit in the current economy. If so, you are not alone. Millions of Americans are having trouble breaking even each month.

Some families have traditionally had one bread-winner and one stay at home parent, usually the mother. These women are now coming out in droves and looking for ways to earn extra money for the family without having to give up their primary role as homemaker.

The good news is that there are more virtual jobs than ever before, so for people who are willing to think outside of the box, there are ways to earn a bit of extra money from home, and much of it can be scheduled around your family.

If you aren’t sure where to begin, start on the world wide web. This is the natural place to look for virtual work. You will probably have to surf around for a while, but soon you’ll find many opportunities.

Data entry is becoming a common virtual position, particularly for stay at home moms. To do this work you’ll need a reliable computer and internet access. If you can type data into a database, you can most likely perform this function.

The data can include almost anything depending on the company, so you may be asked to sign something saying that you will not disclose the information that you have had access to. Try doing a web search right now for data entry work and see what you come up with.

If data entry isn’t your thing, how about writing or editing? These are tasks that are being outsourced by more and more companies, as it is more cost effective for many of them to do so. The good news for you is that this creates virtual work.

Many of these positions do not require a great deal of experience, and the schedule is typically flexible, which is a plus for stay at home moms.
